Chairman’s Speech
It is such a blessing to be standing here today again, in front of students, staff, parents and guests, as the Chairman of this esteemed Old Students’ Association of Igbo-Owu Secondary School ’92 Set, and to be given the opportunity to witness this amazing humanitarian experience this year at the school.
Please allow me to express our warm gratitude toward the IGBOSSAA ’92 set. While they are living and working all over the Country and world, have managed to come together to do something valuable to the indigent students at the schools. This is a great sacrifice and an example of what an Alumni should be doing, especially at this current phase in our Country. We should not expect Government to solve all the problems. The Alumnis should rise to the challenge and give back to the Alma Mater.
I would like to appreciate the collaborative efforts between the IGBOSSAA ’92 EXCO members and the Project committee. The sleepless nights, the endless meetings and the physical engagements of the key stakeholders in both schools have not come to naught. I doff my hat for your steadfastness, leadership and responsiveness of the teams.
We want to thank the officials of the school for giving us the free hand to handle the project. We will also not leave without appreciating our various donors (Monetary and non-monetary). Your efforts are duly acknowledged.
Today we present this gift to the Indigent students as a mark of giving back to the community. and “IGBOSSAA ’92 set” across the world, are setting a significant example to other former and current students in terms of appreciation and moral responsibility to our schools and students.
Thank you all.
Long live the School.
Long Live Lagos State.
Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Durotoye, Akeem Bode
Chairman, IGBOSSAA ’92 Old Students’ Association.
