A Memorable Gathering at IGBOSSAA ’92 7th Annual General Meeting

The IGBOSSAA ’92 Alumni Association held its 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the picturesque Elegunshi Beach and Resort on November 25, 2023. Alumni members gathered to reconnect, celebrate achievements, and discuss the future of their association and alma mater in a day filled with camaraderie, insightful discussions, and wellness activities.

Event Highlights – Morning Session

The event began early with alumni gathering at Ilupeju Senior Grammar School, Oshodi, for transportation to the venue. Upon arrival at Elegunshi Beach, attendees registered and received health check-ups before the AGM officially commenced at 9:00 AM.

Welcome and Opening

The morning session opened with a welcome address by the AGM Chairperson, followed by an inspiring speech from the IGBOSSAA ’92 Chairman. Members then adopted the minutes from the previous AGM in 2022, paving the way for discussions on key matters arising.

Matters Arising

Key topics included a projection on the association’s welfare scheme, discussions around financial status and projections for the future, and the possibility of reviewing annual subscriptions to benefit both the association and alma mater. Members eagerly listened to updates presented by the Treasurer, gaining insights into the association’s financial standing.

A short break allowed for light refreshments and informal conversations, as attendees took in the serene beachfront views.

Afternoon Session

The afternoon focused on health and wellness, beginning with a symposium aimed at educating members on important health topics.

Health Talks

  • Diabetic Care: Mrs. Ireoluwade Amoo and Pharm Pedro Ebomese led a discussion on the costs, challenges, and future of diabetes care, providing essential insights into effective management.
  • Mental Health Awareness: Mrs. Omolayo Ogunsiji delivered a talk on mental health, discussing causes, prevention strategies, and the importance of proactive care.

Celebrations and Closing

After a lunch break and a chance to reconnect, the event resumed with the cutting of an anniversary cake, and souvenirs were presented to mark the occasion. Special recognition was given to alumni celebrating their golden jubilee birthdays, complete with a commemorative cake.
The AGM concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, a closing prayer, and more interaction among alumni as the day wound down.
